Pen PortraitSt Peter at Gowts Primary School is located in the Sincil Bank neighbourhood, which is the area where I work as a Community Organiser. Through taking on the role of a Governor within the school I am keen to enhance the links between St Peter at Gowts and the community and ensure the school continues to play an integral part in this neighbourhood. I also feel that this role will enable the development of further relationships with parents/families at the school who in particular will reside in the Sincil Bank area.

Pen PortraitI am honoured to support St Peter at Gowts C of E Primary School as the ex-officio governor. I work as the RE Adviser for the Diocese of Lincoln and have previously supported the school in this role. I have taught Religious Studies and Philosophy at secondary level and have several research degrees in Theology and Religious Studies. I have worked as the Diocesan RE Adviser for the past five years, working with over 140 primary and secondary schools around greater Lincolnshire. I hope to bring my knowledge and experience of the education system and my expertise in Christian theology to support the school in its continued growth and development as a church school. As a parent of a pupil at the school, I have come to know the school even better and I look forward to doing what I can to help us achieve our vision of “unlocking lifelong learning through challenge, aspiration and inspiration”.

Pen PortraitMy name is Nick Hope and I am a parent governor at St Peter at Gowts CE Primary School. I have three children in the school, who are currently in years 3, 5 and 6. I do lots of work local community linked to sport and enjoy supporting PE and sport in school. In 2012, I was lucky enough to be chosen to carry the Olympic Torch through Lincoln. This was recognition of my work within the local community. In school, I currently lead the football club and have worked hard with staff to develop the team, who always make us proud at competitions. I also support netball club and swimming lessons.

Pen PortraitI am a retired mathematics lecturer, having spent 36 years in teaching. My teaching experience is mainly in secondary and FE but I have also taught in the primary sector. My speciality was in teaching mathematics in context to show how it applies to ‘real world’ situations and in other curriculum areas. During my career I held several management positions as well as being Union Branch Secretary in a large FE College. I have been a School Governor for 23 years. I am passionate about children’s education and believe that our school should provide the best education and opportunities it can for all our children while still retaining its community links and church values and ethos.
