1:1 TA Post (15 Hours)
We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant from January 2020 to work with one of our current Year 3 children who has cognition and learning needs. Hours would be 8.45 am to 11.45am, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will support their learning and personal development by aiding the pupil to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and on her own by, for example:
Promote self-esteem and independence, employing strategies to recognise and reward
achievement within established school procedures
Supporting the pupil to develop communication with their peers during learning activities
and play times.
Motivating and encouraging the pupil as required by providing levels of individual attention,
reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils’ needs
Providing personalised activities to engage the pupil in learning appropriate to their
development and learning needs.
Using praise, commentary and assistance to encourage the pupil to concentrate and stay on
Liaising with class teacher, SENCO and other professionals about individual learning plans
(ILPs), contributing to the planning and delivery as appropriate
Providing additional nurture support when requested by the class teacher or SENCO
Consistently and effectively implementing agreed behaviour management strategies
Helping to make appropriate resources to support the pupil
To provide regular feedback on the pupil’s learning and behaviour to the teacher/SENCO,
including feedback on the effectiveness of the learning and behaviour strategies adopted
