Pen PortraitI am a retired mathematics lecturer, having spent 36 years in teaching. My teaching experience is mainly in secondary and FE but I have also taught in the primary sector. My speciality was in teaching mathematics in context to show how it applies to ‘real world’ situations and in other curriculum areas. During my career I held several management positions as well as being Union Branch Secretary in a large FE College. I have been a School Governor for 23 years. I am passionate about children’s education and believe that our school should provide the best education and opportunities it can for all our children while still retaining its community links and church values and ethos.

Pen PortraitHello, my name is Viv Bennett; I am married to a University Lecturer with a daughter who is a Secondary school teacher. I trained as a Primary teacher at Bishop Grosseteste University and worked for Nottinghamshire County Council for 31 years. I retired from education in July 2015 after 11 years working for a private company based in London where I was a Tutor for Initial Teacher Training. During my career as a teacher I had a variety of responsibilities including Deputy Head, KS2 Leader, Assessment coordinator and Literacy Manager in a variety of schools in the County.I have recently become involved at the school as a volunteer working alongside staff and pupils mainly in Year 6, something I am thoroughly enjoying. I become a member of the Governing Body in September 2015 and hopefully in the future will become more involved in the school and use my varied skills to benefit all.
