16/3/20 – 20/3/20
This week, we have been exploring Poland and learning the Polish language.
To start the week, we have learnt to say “Hello” and used this to let our teachers know that we are present during the morning and afternoon register.
We are very lucky at St Peter’s and have many children of whom Polish is their first language. These children have been able to share their language and culture with the pupils in class and help to teach their peers some short phrases.
Throughout the week, we have been identifying Poland on a map and researching to find out what it is like. Each class was visited by our Polish Parent Support Worker, Mrs Wilson, who shared her experiences from Poland, taught some traditional songs and stories and helped teach some key vocabulary.
In addition to this, children across the school were able to create some traditional Polish crafts and taste some Polish food.
